How to: Disable the Firewall in CentOS

This guide will show you how to disable the firewall within CentOS. If you are doing this, it highly recommended that you use another firewall!


In order to follow this tutorial, you will need the following

  • Sudo Privileges

  • Stopping the Firewall

    You can stop the firewall using this command
    sudo systemctl stop firewalld

    Disable it perminantly

    This can be disabled using this command:
    sudo systemctl disable firewalld
