Introduction

In this guide, I will be showing you how you can find your network information in Windows XP using the ipconfig command within the command prompt

Prerequisites

In order to follow this tutorial, you will need the following

  • Windows XP

  • Opening Command Prompt

Open the ‘Start Menu’ and click the link where it says ‘Run’.

If you open that up and then another window should appear. If you then type in cmd and click ‘Ok’, you would have then opened up Command Prompt. (This should look like a black box.)

    Finding your Network Information

Once you have opened Command Prompt, you can then simply type in
    ipconfig

    or for more detailed information:
    ipconfig /all
